Tonight + Tomorrow Are Going to Blow My Mind
11 Aug…and possibly my liver, too.
First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICOLE!!! My favorite, Nicole turns another year older today and as she starts her drive out to Las Vegas from LA I have a little bit of time to write this up (a little bit of time = 4 hours). So enjoy these Nicole Burron facts:
- Nicole is one of the best friends I’ve ever had
- Nicole is without a doubt the hottest person I know
- She has a seahorse tattoo. It’s adorable but chances are you’ll never see it.
- Nicole is not a flake. If she says she’ll be there, she’ll be there.
- She and I met at the beach and then got some dinner.
- On that night some sand got in the shifting column of her Nissan 350Z.
- For as long as she owned that car, there was always a little sand in there to remind us of the beginning.
- She has an adorable dog named Angel.
- Every guy who has ever passed her up or wronged her is TOTALLY PISSED AT THEMSELVES!
- She writes the best songs that use less that 3 chords.
- Her sex dreams inspire amazing lyrics about lights and air.
- She looks like Adriana Lima with Jolie’s lips, only she’s much, much more attractive.
- She is my muse.
So because I love my beautiful, loyal friend so much I am taking her out to LAVO tonight at the Palazzo. Joining us will be my distant (maybe even my 2nd or 3rd) cousin Alisha, her boyfriend, my awesome friend Aaron and maybe I’ll even talk Anita and Brit into going. It’s going to be wild, no doubt, as all of my past experiences at LAVO were nights for the books. So here’s to getting really, really drunk, crashing, *hopefully not getting a hangover and then having another crazy night tomorrow because…
Wednesday night is the night to grab your bikes, beers, lights and pull an all-nighter.
(Click to open larger image).
This Wednesday night we will be riding from Nu Vision (in Summerlin’s Trails) to Red Rock (the geographic location, not the hotel & casino). From there we hike up to a prime location for stargazing, because it’s the middle of August and you know what that means! What? You say you don’t know? It’s the Perseid meteor showers, kiddo! Climb your roof or favorite tree and tilt your head up to about 90 degrees. What you see will make you believe in beautiful things. If you’re in the Las Vegas area, come out and meet up with us. You don’t have to ride a bike. We will be check pointing at the Chevron on Charleston at about 10:30pm. Make sure you take a cat nap beforehand because chances are this is going to turn into an all night/early morning event. We will also be getting our drink & party on here as well. If you do go and have a good time (yay!) please make sure to clean up your mess. We will be having this event at one of the most naturally beautiful spots in LV, and everybody would like to keep it that way.
So this is like a weekend in the middle of the week for me… and I’m pretty stoked.
And you know when I see all those meteors I’ll be wishing on them like shooting stars…and I’ll be wishing for you.
Tuesdays at Lavo
22 JulAaron and I are starting to make Tuesday nights at LAVO inside the Palazzo a tradition. Last night I finally broke through my fear of dancing and surprise surprise I’m actually pretty good. All the months of watching Kelsey seizure on the dance floor must have helped, because Aaron and I were the best “L.A. dancers” that there were. Open bars, ball players pouring Grey Goose in my mouth, dancing the night away with Aaron, VIP… I could get used to this.
We might be starting a new trend, over at Tao Beach on Sundays. If you want to come with us, feel free. We are getting a couple cabanas. I can’t friggin wait.
It Reeks of Piss and 409
17 JulI spent pretty much all of yesterday at the University Medical Center (UMC – a student hospital) trying to figure out why I had a seizure and fainted on Wednesday afternoon. After filling out paper work then sitting & waiting (four hours) the doctors and nurses finally got started on me. After some blood and urine were expounded, and CAT scans and X-Ray machines were warmed up, I was tested. I had a terrible experience with almost every member of the staff. After all of the time (and money) spent a doctor came into my room, put a stethoscope on me for two seconds and said “While I’m not saying what happened was caused by nothing, I am saying we can’t pinpoint what caused the seizures and fainting.”
There were other problems I had with the people in the hospital – like the EKG technician that just ripped open my hospital gown and started slapping cold EKG sticky thingies on me. It went down like this:
- Sound of my room curtain sliding open
- A girl with an EKG machine rolls in
- Girl rips open my hospital gown
- Starts slapping EKG sticky tabs on me
- Slap
- Slap
- Tittie
- Slap
P.S. She was all about just putting stuff on my body without explaining it or introducing herself before she saw my goodies. Oh, and those little sticky pads were cold.com.
After the EKG she said I should stay unrobed and the doctor would come back to tell me about my results (since they did the EKG after he said all tests cleared – good order, right?). I then sat in the room long enough to doze off, take photos and eavesdrop on an entire conversation the police were having with the patient in the bed next to me.
Enjoy the photos.
Wet & WEN @the Luxor
3 MayToday is the last day of Las Vegas pride and my friend Jordan along with the Women’s Empowerment Network of NV (who bring activism with a social twist) are hosting a PRIDE pool party at the Luxor pool from 2pm to 6pm.
The cover is $10 USD and there will be dancers, DJs, hookah and tons of alcohol. The pool party with be followed by a PRIDE wrap-up party at Cathouse (also at the Luxor).
Bring your bikini + a change of clothes and get ready for a major blow-out celebration.
If you want to attend and have any questions you can help yourself to e-mailing me at kacey@kaceycash.com and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
The Luxor Pool. (This is a huge panoramic photo. Click for larger view [new window]).
The gorgeous club, Cathouse (and the women that work there aren’t bad, either).
A Surprise I Was Expecting
3 MayLas Vegas is way too small.
I went to Las Vegas Pride today and saw so many people (mostly old acquaintances and one ex) from various parts of my Vegas past and it made me really think back to how much life sucked out here. I’m really glad 2009 is shaping up to be one bomb-arse year. I made amends with someone I was dying to drop ish with, I met up with a lot of great people I never got a chance to know well, and I am back and enjoying life.
Bike rides to First Friday, pool parties at the Luxor, shooting the Hard Rock summer series and a very gorgeous, special girl.
Vegas might be earning points for once.
Danny Gans: October 25, 1956 – May 1, 2009
1 MayDanny Gans, respected Las Vegas entertainer and music impressionist has unfortunately died today, May 1st, 2009.
My mom called me from her cell phone on her way to work (at the Mirage Casino where Gans held a very long residency) and asked me to Google his death. It seemed skeptical that he’d be dead so young (52) but sadly, it is true. He passed early this morning (around 3:30am) at home. Reports were made that a family member had called 911 reporting a 52 year old man with trouble breathing, but by the time the ambulance had arrived he had already passed.
My thoughts go out to his wife and three children. I regrettably never had a chance to see Mr. Gans live but what I had heard about his performances were nothing but A+ reviews, which isn’t a surprise considering Gans had won “Best Performer of the Year” 11 years in a row.
Here is some video of Danny doing what he did best:
Guess Who…
1 MayAttention everybody, I AM BACK IN VEGAS!
So some things went down out in Long Beach and unfortunately everybody moved out of the house and to their own respective places. Cassie went back to her parents’ house in Hermosa Beach, Cathy is moving to a room in Hermosa as well…and well, I am back in Vegas.
It’s funny that all it takes is a little absence to make the heart grow fonder. I know you wouldn’t believe it, but I was actually missing Vegas as well as looking forward to coming back. I was beyond ecstatic to see Andie, Vickie, Joe & Saskia from House of Commons, all the great bike friends and of course…Anita.
I’ve decided to give Las Vegas the honest effort I never really afforded to it in the beginning. I’m honestly going to try and enjoy it and make the best of it. I’ll be in college which will (I think) make the experience better this time as well.
Tonight is Las Vegas (Gay) Pride as well as First Friday @Downtown. I’m excited to visit both, be on my bike, and give and receive a lot of overdue hugs.
I feel like blogging again today. If you haven’t already noticed, the blog got a huge Joan Rivers facelift. There are no more password protected entries, and there are also a lot of new widgets.
